My Names Jeffrey most folks call me jeffrey as well unlike most jeffrey's who are called jeff. I will be 36 on august 31st of 2008.
I am an eccentric geek with a broad scope of interest. My grammar and punctuation skills when it comes to writing suck badly as you
will soon see lol.
A Bit About My Past and My Digital Addiction
I got started into the realms of digital addiction when i was 11 when my parents got me a commodore
64, followed by enrolling me in the first porgramming class of my life for basic.

As i entered my teenage years i was a very bad kid, 'shakes head' lol very bad. My computer addiction
lead me into a world of knowledge seeking which in turn put bad ideas in my head. I also loved to play
a fantasy game called dungeons and dragons.
Later as I reached adult hood my fondness for creating grew and the quest for knowledge continued, as
well as my intrigue for the digital world of computers. However having had all the males in my familly having served
in the millitary at some point in their life made me desire to have this experience as well. So I put my computer
interest on hold and joined the army.
I came back to civilian life in the early 90's and I quickly picked up where I left off with my digital addictions.
Bulletin Board Systems would become the professors in my digital education. I would later run a 4 line bbs for
about a year called The Crazy J Caffee. Shortly after a new thing called the world wide web sucked me in.
As the internet grew in popularity and I became a advid addcit. I spent a great deal of time surfing the web learning all I could about computers.
Computer security and programming sites where my regular surf stops. I also got into some text based games called muds to feed my fantasy gaming
interest yet they never really grabbed me and said come play constantly. I learned some c and c++ read many books on the subject, I learned html,
and then I found visual basic, and in over the course of a year mastered the programming language.As the internet became my main focus i lost interest in my bbs and started my first web site, yep you guessed it The Crazy J Caffee. It dealt mainly
in digital security and with programming in visual basic.
As I grew and learned in the early 90s I wrote distributed and copyrighted a few programs as shareware.Ziff davis publishing picked up the highlight
of these 'Secrets the Anti-Snoop Text Editor'. Giving it three stars out of five they later put it into a book/cd
compilation that they published. Later it was picked up bye and Indonisian company who included it in their cd rom
compilation, it was pretty wild to get people registering my software from another country heh.
I attended college for computer science for a short 8 months till i got bored and decided to seek out a career in the computer world.
Probably why my english grammar and punctuation skills suck so badly lol.
Believe it or not i landed a job without a degree in the computer industry. Managed a small peer to peer network first, and began to
learn to build computers (do to the companies cheapness), created a website, and developed a access 2.0 customer database for them.
As time went on, i learned more and i fine tuned my programming skills and i landed a new job with a fortune 500 company out of mountain
view california. Yep the geek made the silicon valley big leagues and I was pretty proud about it to.
I thought I had hit the top of the world and the career path of my life. Promoted to a senior software developer and moved to detroit
michigan at 29 making 72,000 a year I seemed to be set for life. I do not think I had finished maturing yet though at this time in my life,
I wanted to play video games for hours on end, I wanted to go to bars night after night and the career world clashed with these internal
desires. I didnt think about buying a house I just wanted to buy and play the next best video game, I didnt want
to see the world, or do new things, I wanted time to play and needed this time to play at this point in my life, and I new that play time would
be limited if I continued to hold onto a career minded, professional position so I changed course and went down a new path in life.
The present
Seven years have passed now since I made the change to accomadate my still maturing self and left the career world.
Over the last seven years I took massive time off to play living off savings during these times. I also held two
long term blue collar positions to just get by in life to continue to play the most recent ending just a week ago
of this writing.
Yes! I am in the begining phase of changing my life once again. From what I feel inside the best way to describe
what is going on in me is I have finally hit maturity. For the past two years my internal desires have been slowly
changing I dont have a desire to play the latest greatest video game for hours on end. I don't want to go to bars
and party all night,night after night. I have a great internal desire to see the world and even photograph it and I
can't do this if I am just getting by. I have a great internal desire to beable to look back in twenty years sitting
in my own home, with a woman I love, have a successful career of doing great and creative things that I can take pride
in, be comfortable, and of course have a very successful long lived web site of crazy creativity.
In other words its time to get the career back that is the right fit for my life but had become a part of my life a bit
to soon and that is exactly what I am going to do.
Hobbies and Other Interest
Again here most all of my interest involve the computer in one way or another but I have recently got what I call the adventure bug again.
Something I thought I had lost forever after being in the infantry in the army. Yet for what ever reason its back and stronger then ever so you
can find me out hiking or exploring down some back road somewhere regularly. It seems the adventure bug is also hooked to taking photos and videos
of these adventures now as well.
