The goal behind our heavy advertising campaigns is simply put.
To build a significant base of traffic coming to the site before the release of the
first game. We plan to sell the games so we figure might as well start building
traffic now then after we our done with the first game then try to advertise for it.

Why so much detailed traffic information for the site?

Two reasons...
First I wanted something to show me how to target my advertising to better target the parts of the
site that are suffering from weaker traffic.
Second we recently started running google ads on the site and we apparently already have some advertisers targeting
the site specificaly. Thus I wanted to give them some better information so they can make decisions on
where their ads might best be placed.

I see allot of sites with your program secrets the anti-snoop text editor
listed, do they link directly to the zip file or house it themselves?
If they link to you can you tell how popular it really is?

Yes, allot of the sites link to the zip archive for the program,
however c|net,winsite, and a few others house it themselves.
I can show only the total downloads from mysite not for the ones
that house it themselves.

The main page of the site runs a special ad/google ad rotation.
The forum post from users run only google ads.
All other pages of the site run them.

Why only one banner or google ad per page and one special ad?

We feel that it gives the ad or banner a better quality impression.
When I personally hit a page when im surfing and see 10 advertisements i pretty much just ignore them all.
Sometimes I even get so frustrated trying to find what im looking for i just leave the site because of all the clutter.

Why only images in the banner rotation/ad space?

We feel that it best compliments the site design and layout.

How does the banner rotation / google ad space work
|

We run a cgi script on all the pages that picks at random one entry from a information file
of html code and adds it to the page when its loaded.
Each section of the site has its own information file
For each entry of banner exchange code thats in the file their is one entry for the google ad code as well.
This means that a google ad has a better chance to appear much more often then one of the
banners but its all random so no guarantees.

Plan to do one special advertisement per section, and if no special advertisement is available for the section
we plan to run google ads their till we have a special ad for that section. The forums are going to run
google ads in that space exclusively. The main page is now running a rotation for the special advertisements
and google ads at a 1 to 1 ratio ie they should get equal exposure.

Whats the random insanity generator space for?
|

Just a spot on each of the pages to have some random fun with.
The space works the same as the banner rotation/ad space rotation.
But it runs off a information file with just jokes, abnormal fun animations
or general information about the site.
For example my stuckclock animation runs in this space that drives the grammar goddess crazy rofl.
